Setting up TestFlight for iOS App Testing
To test and preview your iOS app before it’s published, Apple uses TestFlight, a platform for distributing beta builds to internal teams and external testers.
Step-by-Step
-
Download TestFlight from the App Store
On your iPhone, open the App Store and search for:
👉TestFlight
by Apple -
Log in with your Apple ID
This should be the same Apple ID that was invited to the app via App Store Connect.🔐 Use your business or work Apple ID, not a personal one if possible.
-
Look for your invitation email
You should have received a TestFlight invite from Apple (check spam/junk too).📩 The email contains a direct link to accept the invitation and install the app.
-
Tap the link on your phone
This will open TestFlight and take you directly to the app build.- Tap Install to download the latest version.
- Updates will be available here as new builds are uploaded.
Common Issues
-
❌ Didn’t receive the invite?
Ask the Eventscan team to re-send it.
-
❌ Link opens in Safari or doesn’t work?
Open the email directly on your iPhone, not your desktop.
-
❌ Already have TestFlight but can’t see the app?
Make sure you're logged in with the Apple ID that was invited.
Optional: Add Your Team
If you’d like additional testers to try the app:
- Go to App Store Connect
- Navigate to Users and Access
- Invite them using their Apple ID emails
📌 All new testers must accept the invite and download TestFlight as above.
What TestFlight Shows
- App name, version, and build number
- “What to Test” notes from the developer (if added)
- Expiry countdown (each build is valid for 90 days)
That’s it! You're now set up to test and preview your iOS app through TestFlight. Any issues, just contact the Eventscan team.
