Setting up a Google Play Store Business Account
To publish your Android app to the Google Play Store, you’ll need a Google Play Developer Account registered under your company or organisation.
Step-by-Step
-
Go to the Google Play Console sign-up page
-
Sign in with your company's Google Account
⚠️ Do not use your personal Gmail account. This account will own your Play Store listings.
-
Accept the Developer Agreement
This outlines terms and responsibilities as a publisher. -
Pay the one-time $25 USD registration fee
💳 You’ll need a debit or credit card. This fee is per account, not per app.
-
Complete your Developer Profile
Fill out:- Developer name (your company name)
- Contact email (used for Play Store listing and support)
- Contact phone number
- Website URL (e.g.
https://guide.eventscan.co.uk
)
-
Submit your profile and wait for confirmation
✅ Most accounts are approved within minutes.
Add Eventscan as an admin
Once the account is active:
-
Go to Users and Permissions in the left-hand menu
-
Click Invite new user
-
Enter:
apps@eventscan.co.uk
-
Under Permissions, choose:
- Admin access (full access to manage apps and settings)
-
Click Invite
🔐 This allows us to upload, manage, and publish apps on your behalf.
Important: Company Verification
Google may request additional information to verify your business identity. Be prepared with:
- ✅ D-U-N-S Number (Dun & Bradstreet business ID)
- ✅ Legal company name (as registered)
- ✅ Official company website
- ✅ Business address and phone number
📌 The D-U-N-S number is sometimes required if Google needs to confirm that your business is legitimate. You can check or request one here if needed.
Common Mistakes
- ❌ Using a personal Gmail account (ownership complications later)
- ❌ Incomplete contact info (can delay app reviews)
- ❌ Skipping the privacy policy URL (required for publishing)
- ❌ Forgetting to invite the
apps@eventscan.co.uk
admin
Once complete, your Google Play Console is ready to upload and manage apps for eventscan or any future Android projects.
That’s it! You’re now ready to publish to Google Play.
